The Cuban Artists Fund supports artists in a variety of ways including direct financial support through grants, studio space and exposing artists to its arts network of contacts/collaborative partners within the arts community.

  • Technical Assistance – Expertise in teaching artists how to become a successful business entity is provided. Assistance in portfolio preparation, project sponsorship, social media/press management, and audience cultivation is provided as often artists lack the business training necessary to survive in the competitive arts world.
  • Grants to Artists - CAF is committed to assisting artists of Cuban ancestry in the literary, performing, and visual arts. CAF awards grants, scholarships, materials, and resources to artists. While open to artists throughout the world, CAF has a special focus for New York City-based artists.
  • Studios Program - Studio space is offered to artists at little to no cost through its partnerships with the Pocantico Center, Vermont Studio Center and chashama in New York City. Often the public is invited to participate in the artists’ studio experience by attending open-studio sessions where they can meet with artists to discuss their influences, creative processes and challenges.
  • Curator in Residence – This program affords emerging art professionals to implement an exhibition through CAF and, by extension, through our partners. The experience serves as a learning tool for curators, teaching valuable lessons in the production of an exhibition from start to finish. Furthermore, the actual exhibition features CAF sponsored artists thus affording artists a venue to present their work before a new audience. As a result, CAF fulfills its mission by bringing together art administrators, artists, cultural organizations and the general public.
